Energy Conservation in the Workplace (University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust)

This information leaflet provides some strategies which might help you to conserve your energy in the workplace and at home.

Understanding Energy Impairment

Having an energy impairment can be likened to starting each day with only 30% battery. Using this analogy it is important that people can:

  • Use their energy wisely and conserve it wherever possible.
  • Re-charge through regular rest periods. This means complete rest from all activity - including tasks like reading and talking.
  • Avoid over-stretching to 0% battery, leaving nothing left for the rest of the day.
